Kentucky Crowd Cheers Valedictorian’s Trump Quote, Then Learns Obama Said It
Wisdom comes from the unlikeliest places. And on Saturday, Ben Bowling, the valedictorian of Bell County High School in Pineville, Ky., made an inspirational appeal that left his graduating classmates and their parents dumbstruck.

“This is the part of my speech where I share some inspirational quotes I found on Google,” he told the packed auditorium. “‘Don’t just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table’ — Donald J. Trump.”

The crowd burst into applause. President Trump is quite popular in Pineville and the surrounding area, which is the heart of coal country and overwhelmingly supported the president in the 2016 election after he promised to bring coal jobs back to America.

Mr. Bowling, though, wasn’t finished.
“Just kidding,” he said. “That was Barack Obama.”

The cheering abruptly stopped. The crowd went mostly silent. There was a lone boo.

Mr. Bowling was quoting a May 2012 commencement speech President Obama gave to the graduating class of Barnard College in New York City. He offered this message to graduates of the women’s college then: “Women shape not only their own destiny but the destiny of this nation and of this world.”

Tucker Carlson is trying to claim that the metric system is a conspiracy theory
Tucker Carlson has claimed that America is facing a huge and pressing threat and it is... yes, you guessed it, the metric system.

Speaking on Tucker Carlson tonight, the right-wing presenter said:
"Almost every nation on Earth has fallen to tyranny: the metric system.
From Beijing to Buenos Aires, from Lusaka to London, the people of the world have been forced to measure their environment in millimetres and kilograms.
The United States is the only major country that is resisted, but we have no reason to be ashamed for using feet and pounds.Almost every nation on Earth has fallen to tyranny: the metric system."

Right. We've heard a lot of strange things in our time, but this definitely has to be the absolute strangest.
The case for the metric system hasn't been made in the United States since the Jimmy Carter administration, however, there is an argument that it would make a lot of sense, as they would facilitate international trade, increase economic output, and also possibly prevent NASA missions from failing, reports Raw Story.

Speaking on the show, James Pinero, who describes himself as an 'anti-metrite' said that the metric system should be feared because it is:
"The original system of global revolution and new world orders."

In response, Carlson said:
"Esperanto died, but the metric system continues, this weird, utopian, inelegant, creepy system that we alone have resisted.
How long can we hold out against it, would you say?"

Pinero then retorts:
"We should stand tall on our own 2 feet, I say.
Because it is customary measures that measured out the revolution and customary measures that took us to the moon.
The metric system meanwhile is the product of the French revolution. It was imposed at the business end of the guillotine."

Carlson then interjects:
"So why are our leaders so anxious that we join the rest of the world in using Robespierre’s favorite standard of measurement, I don't understand?"

Pinero further noted that:
"All customary measures use man and his labour as the basis of the measurement. What is an acre? It is the land that an ox and can till in one day.
5,000 paces, a pace of 5,000 feet each. A meter is what? The globe that is not even accurate."

He added that the use of the base ten in the metric system is:
"What remains of the radicalism … not great for measuring things in the real world.
There is a reason why the measurement system has 12, eights and 60s.
It comes from ancient knowledge, from the Romans, from the Babylonians."

In response, Carlson said:
"I do see the problem, and I have not heard it as eloquently expressed as you just did.
You give us heart to keep fighting against a global tyranny of the metric system. And bless you for that."

Keep fighting that good fight, guys.

"In a key finding of the Mueller report, Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Kilimnik, who worked for Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, is tied to Russian intelligence.
But hundreds of pages of government documents — which special counsel Robert Mueller possessed since 2018 — describe Kilimnik as a “sensitive” intelligence source for the U.S. State Department who informed on Ukrainian and Russian matters.
Why Mueller’s team omitted that part of the Kilimnik narrative from its report and related court filings is not known. But the revelation of it comes as the accuracy of Mueller’s Russia conclusions face increased scrutiny."

Two of Fox News’ most vitriolic hosts just lost a major advertiser: Bayer
The multinational pharmaceutical company Bayer has dropped Tucker Carlson’s and Laura Ingraham’s Fox News prime-time shows, Judd Legum reported in his Popular Info newsletter.

Bayer’s departure is a devastating blow to Fox News since the company served as a ballast for the struggling and toxic prime-time hosts. The company advertised nearly 180 times on Ingraham’s program so far this year, making it the show’s second most frequent advertiser year-to-date, behind only Sandals Resorts, per a Media Matters review. Bayer was the fifth most frequent advertiser on Carlson’s show during the same timespan, despite a brief advertising hiatus after Media Matters unearthed audio of Carlson making misogynistic, perverted, homophobic, and racist comments on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show.

Both hosts have been a drain on Fox’s ad revenue, with their extreme rhetoric driving away sponsors and leading to lighter ad loads during the shows. In response, Fox ad executives have pivoted toward promoting the network’s “news” division, but a Media Matters investigation found that the "news”-side hosts are just cogs in the same propaganda machine. ...

The multinational pharmaceutical company’s decision to drop these toxic prime-time shows was spurred by recent incidents in which Carlson used white nationalist rhetoric and Ingraham defended an open white supremacist.

Trump Supporter Arrested After Allegedly Threatening To Kill Members of Congress
Scott Brian Haven of Utah is accused of making over 2,000 phone calls to the U.S. Capitol over a three-year period about Democrats threatening Trump’s presidency.

A Utah man has been arrested on accusations he threatened to kill members of Congress during a three-year stretch with more than 2,000 phone calls to the U.S. Capitol and profanity-laden tirades about Democrats threatening the presidency of Donald Trump.

In one call last month, Scott Brian Haven dialed the office of an unnamed U.S. representative and purported to be standing right behind him and ready to “shoot him in the head” because “the Russians want him taken out because he is trying to remove a duly elected President,” according to charging documents unsealed Wednesday.

The Latest: US employers added a weak 75,000 jobs in May
U.S. hiring slowed in May as employers added just 75,000 jobs, a sign that businesses may have become more cautious in the face of slowing global growth, trade fights and the fading stimulus from tax cuts and greater government spending.

The Labor Department says the modest increase follows a healthier gain of 224,000 in April. Hiring in the previous two months was revised lower by a combined 75,000. The unemployment rate remained at a nearly 50-year low of 3.6%. The job gains in May were the fewest since February.

The Labor Department says the modest increase follows a healthier gain of 224,000 in April. Hiring in the previous two months was revised lower by a combined 75,000. The unemployment rate remained at a nearly 50-year low of 3.6%. The job gains in May were the fewest since February.

Schlimm !!!
Und Aktien steigen und steigen. :-(

Dow gains 300 points on hopes of an interest rate cut after weak jobs report
The Dow jumped nearly 300 points in afternoon trading Friday as prospects for an interest rate hike strengthened after a weaker-than-expected jobs report.

U.S. employers added just 75,000 jobs in May, well below the 178,000 gain that economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected. Another concern: Hiring gains for March and April combined were revised down by 75,000, according to the Labor Department Friday.

While this often would spook markets, investors took it as another incentive for the Federal Reserve to cut a benchmark rate in the coming months, making borrowing cheaper for businesses and consumers.

The "crazy" FED to the rescue. :-)))

Here’s another bad sign in the jobs
It’s bad enough that the U.S. added only 75,000 jobs in May. Drilling down further into the report, there’s another worrisome feature.

The diffusion index, which measures the percent of industries hiring, fell to a two-year low of 54.8%. Any reading above 50% indicates more companies are hiring than not.
This means that the hiring slowdown isn’t concentrated just in one field, something that is also clear in the sector breakdown of the report.

Manufacturing hiring was weak for a second month—no surprise given tensions over U.S. trade policy, a strong dollar DXY, -0.56% and slowing world economic growth—but the weakness spread much further.
Construction job growth dropped from 30,000 to 4,000. Transportation and warehousing—think Amazon AMZN, +2.60% among others — went from 6,700 to minus 200. Temporary help nearly was halved, falling to 5,100 from 9,900.

Christians who support Trump are morally and spiritually superior than other Devotees., Pastor Robert Jeffries tells Fox News.
A prominent evangelical pastor of a Texas megachurch, who is also a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, on Sunday said Christian followers of Trump have “deeper convictions” than other devotees.

Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Dallas Church, appeared on Fox & Friends earlier today to discuss a new poll which found a decrease in the number of people who call themselves Evangelicals and what it means for the future of America.

Commenting on the poll, Jeffress argued that rather than reading the 1.4 percent drop in the number of Evangelicals from 2016 to now as a negative trend, the people who identify should be seen as more devoted than ever because they are choosing to check the box.

Trumps Skandalkabinett
